The Interpretive Collaborative Review (ICR) process is designed to guide collaborative profiling, scoring, and recording of jointly perceived significance associated with online publications. The goal is to make explicit a group’s perspective and understanding of the value of claims presented in these publications.

This addresses the problem of an overabundance of published and Internet accessible health science research information presents a major challenge for identifying a subset of that information for adequately informing specific healthcare choices. This challenge is further complicated when accounting for varying or multiple perspectives in the governance of those choices. We consider this a problem best resolved by collaborative sensemaking.

The ICR is a conceptual framework is developed to guide personal and collective assessment of information sources for their capacity to facilitate a process of collaboratively making sense of their meaning for informing choices. The framework is designed to facilitate explicit evaluation and mapping of perceived value claims and to support dialogue concerning their significance.

We are developing and evaluating the process currently, and invite committed participants for online engagements to address a real healthcare research issue or even clinical concerns via the ICR process. Please contact Peter if this is of interest to you or others in your problem area.
