Maybe worth checking out HFES, the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society
I've observed Human Factors is often the preferred terminology (on the part of the corporations!) for design professionals working in healthcare. However, honestly, I can't say that I particularly benefited from being a member of HFES for a couple years (2002-2004).
